A Dream is a Seed

A dream is not like the fog which flees from the sun.

Nor like the winter snow that melts when its time is done.

A dream is a seed planted early;

Perhaps watered, perhaps forgotten.

A dream is love and care, good water and sun,

Or maybe a prayer for a seed long believed gone.

One dream is a goal to be achieved,

While another is a hope that might be.

A hope hidden in favor of goals,

When all but forgotten it sprouts and is free!

A dream is not like the clouds that skim the sky,

Nor like the rose that blooms and dies.

A dream is a seed planted early;

Perhaps watered, perhaps forgotten.

It comes alive when least expected,

Sprung from a hope once shattered and broken.

Christmas traditions are spare in my family, the most persistent tradition being that we didn’t celebrate it at all for many years. But recently, various traditions from past years have been reborn. D
